We are going to show off! In conjunction with the Madison Trust,
we will open 10 houses and 5 gardens to the
public in honor of the 50 years since the first residents moved into the “new” neighborhood.
The houses highlight a variety of architectural styles popular in the
late 50s and early 60s when the neighborhood construction was in
full swing. The gardens add to the living pleasure of the neighborhood.
As the first tour highlighting this era –
both for the Hill Farms neighborhood and
the City of Madison – record enjoyment is expected on that day.
The houses have been chosen both for their style, and also to represent different modes of living in the beginning of the neighborhood. Highlighted will be the best there was during the expansion westward into the former farm of the Hill family and later the University of Wisconsin research farm. Homes and gardens will display the various architectural and landscape trends popular during the period, from more typical examples to one-of-a-kind architect-designed residences.

The Madison Trust is offering its support and tour expertise to allow our neighborhood to further our worthy causes.
This is our celebration of growth of the past 50 years. We will invite the city in to see why this is still one of the best places to live in Madison. With long-time residents next door to new residents, it's a great place to form lasting friendships, too! Join us on June 4th, and meet and greet the old and the new as we continue with our 50th Anniversary of the University Hill Farms neighborhood!
Tour highlights include 5001 Bayfield Terrace and 4702 Waukesha, both shown here.
