  1. When will the Sundance 608 open to the public?

    2. As we approach the winter months, it’s important that we get under the cover of a roof before we can pinpoint the exact opening date. We expect to open in Spring of 2007. Keep watching this site for updates.

  2. What kind of movies will play at the Sundance 608?

    3. We will play the finest art, independent, world and documentary film available. A screen will be programmed alongside a calendar affording more esoteric movie choices, as well. We will also play quality selections from major distributors.

  3. What makes the Sundance 608 different from other movie theatres in Madison?

    4. The Sundance 608 will feature 6 all stadium seated auditoriums with extra comfortable seats, and digital sound and superior film and pre-show presentation featuring shorts and features from the Sundance Channel. We will only play the finest film choices available. The atmosphere and finishes throughout the have the look and feel of both the Sundance and Madison aesthetic. We will feature local Madison artists on our gallery wall space. We will have bars and bistros, lounges with wi-fi access and retail space all designed to create a ‘third place’ atmosphere. There’s no need to purchase a ticket to the movies to visit our location.

  4. We hear there will be reserved seating for the shows

    5. Yes, every seat for every show will be sold on a reserved seating basis. Tickets will be available for purchase either on the web with print at home capability, at the ticketing kiosks or at the box office. We feel that offering this service relieves some of the stress of planning a trip to the movies, plus you get to choose your very favorite seat every time!

  5. Will you have a Sundance store?

    6. The Sundance Gallery will have access both from the mall and our theatre lobby.

    We will sell film related items, Sundance logo clothing and Sundance branded merchandise. Local designers and artists will have the opportunity to present their work alongside the carefully selected merchandise sold by the various Sundance brands. In addition, hand crafted items from the Sundance Resort’s Art Shack will be sold including premium soaps and beautiful recycled glassware.

  6. Will there be Bars and Bistros, too?

    7. The Sundance 608 will be home to the Bar Bistro 608, serving fine small dishes and appetizers along with a full bar, plus the seasonal Rooftop Bar, a great destination for casual drinking and dining with great views of the surrounding areas. The Sundance 608 has full catering capabilities for special events, company meetings or theatre rentals.

  7. Can I rent the theatre for special events?

    8. Yes, the theatres and various spaces within the facility are available for rental for screenings or meetings. We will have full catering capabilities. Contact Madisoninfo@sundancecinemas.net for more information.

  8. Will there be a café open before the movies begin?

    9. Yes, our Caffe 608 is open from 6 a.m. to late at night. We will serve San Francisco-based Peet’s Coffees and Teas with espresso drinks and fresh breakfast fare beginning in the morning. In the afternoon, we will have fresh sandwiches, smoothies and wraps, plus the classic movie favorites like popcorn, soda and candy throughout the day and evening.

  9. Will the Sundance 608 play TV style commercials before the feature?

    10. A very adamant no. We believe that your movie going experience should be completely different from staying home and watching television. Being barraged by commercial messages is just not what we are about. You will be entertained and educated with shorts and features from the Sundance Channel, plus content from other interesting sources.

  10. Are Sundance Cinemas related to the Sundance Film Festival?

    11. Sundance Cinemas is a member of the Sundance Group. Included in the group are the Sundance Film Institute, The Sundance Film Festival, The Sundance Channel, The Sundance Resort and the Sundance Nature Preserve.

    12. Not this year, but we hope the Festival will consider us their home for many years to come.
