Madison's Home on
the Near West Side
Our neighborhood welcomes you!
University Hill Farms, or simply "Hill Farms," is a charming and welcoming and diverse residential neighborhood on the west side of Madison, Wisconsin. The area is characterized by its mid-century architecture, including elegant prairie-style (with a Frank Lloyd Wright house), cozy ranch-style, unique split-level homes, and apartments all surrounded by lush, mature trees. Named after the University of Wisconsin's Hill Farm that used to exist on the site, our neighborhood evolved from an agricultural research site into a beautifully planned community in the 1950s in partnership with the City of Madison, which earned it a National Historic District status.
Hill Farms is renowned for its vibrant community spirit, driven by our active neighborhood association that hosts a variety of engaging events and activities. Residents take pride in their well-kept public spaces, including the scenic Rennebohm and Garner Parks, as well as the Hill Farms Swim Club. The neighborhood boundary and its association consists of over 900 homes, over 1000 members, and is inclusive of nearby apartment residents.
Perfectly positioned, University Hill Farms offers convenient access to shopping, dining, and the cultural attractions of downtown Madison, public transportation options, as well as the University of Wisconsin. Coupled with its top-rated public schools, Hill Farms provides a serene atmosphere and a strong sense of community, making it an ideal place to call home.
